Village pub to be opened as new speciality coffee shop

On 8th June 2020, speciality coffee roasters, Seven Districts Coffee signed the lease to the ‘Farmers Arms’, situated on Market Rasen Road (A46).

Farmers Arms had closed down due to previous owners leaving the premises unannounced, where the building was mid-way through its refurbishment to open as a new Indian restaurant.

The announcement comes during the Coronavirus Pandemic, where cafes and restaurants have had to close for 12 weeks and are due to start re-open in July.

Closed and empty since 2017, Farmers Mahal never opened

Ben Southall, Co-founder of Seven Districts Coffee said: “A big unknown for us, like many businesses, is COVID-19. We are thinking ahead and trying to remain optimistic, but in our planning we are taking steps to ensure social distancing for when we open.

“We are however extremely excited to make our mark on the speciality coffee scene with our new coffee house, and to show novices and enthusiasts alike the coffee roasting process.

“The coffee house will be used primarily to serve barista coffee and artisan food, but will also be a place where people can watch how we roast our coffee. We’ll also be hosting coffee tasting sessions so people can learn about the different types of beans we source”.

Seven Districts Coffee have based their branding on the folklores of each district of Lincolnshire. Each coffee they roast holds a unique story, celebrating the history which Lincolnshire stands on.

The open date is hoped to be in Autumn of this year.
